So what does a teacher do? (Example)

10 things I am good at:

  • laundry
  • talking
  • listening
  • writing
  • poetry
  • reading
  • walking
  • complaining (Okay, that’s not good, but it is truthful.)
  • teaching
  • making history fun
  • telling stories (But apparently not at counting, because I think this one made eleven things.)
10 groups I am a part of
  • Kingwood adjunct faculty
  • HBU adjunct faculty
  • the Davis family
  • Purdue alumni
  • people who can drive stick
  • readers
  • education bloggers
  • Renaissance fair attenders
  • people who have lived in Europe
  • descendants of soldiers in the American Revolution
I think the most interesting of the groups in that list is “descendants of soldiers in the American Revolution.”  One of my cousins is a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), but I never bothered to join it.  My aunt did a lot of research to find out if my cousin could be a part of it, though.  My great-great (several more times) grandfather Daniel Hastings/Haston fought in the American Revolution and Texas A&M hosts my great’s family history.  He is listed in the Tennessee Sons of the American Revolution.  I think it is fascinating to read about my ancestors, especially one who was partially responsible for the country I call home.
