Are You Really That Good?

I am not an avid fan nor an occasional viewer of the so called “talent” programs that are all the rage on television today.  From what I do hear about these programs, most of the contestants do not have any talent.  I do not find this entertaining.  I think the shows are popular because people like to see the “average Joe (or Jane)” make it big.  It gives hope to those who do have some talent.  One day they may be discovered.  For those who cannot sing or dance, like myself, they may just find the shows entertaining.  I think the shows can offer encouragement to others.  The shows may inspire some people to try things they may have thought about doing, but never tried before.  Whatever the reason may be, the singing and dancing reality shows are a definite hit.
