Deviated expectations

Back in November when I had planned to start college, many thoughts processed in my head about what was to come. Thus far, I can safely say that college has lived up to almost all of them.

First off, my immediate thought was about how much more “laid back” college would be. There is no shaving requirement, no more receiving a D-hall for being late, people can smoke if they choose to, etc.

Secondly, the immediate learning environment is relatively close to, if not the same, as high school. In college, you go to class, listen, and follow up the next day with whatever completed work the instructor has assigned; just as in high school.

Although different in many aspects, both are very similar many ways as well. We are now adults, but just because we are adults, does not mean we can skip tradition when it comes to a higher education.
