Embryonic and adult stem cell research is a very sensitive and controversial issue. Although many believe that the harvesting of embryonic stem cells is unethical, since it envolves the distruction of an embryo, science proves that this method has the potential to save lives, cure numerous diseases, and lead to more effective treatments of serious human disorders. Adult stem cells are still a viable source and can also lead to many successful treatments and cures, but they are limited to only producing one or two types of tissues and therefor have a limited capacity.
