Peer Review: Abstract

Is there a running head and the number two in the upper right hand corner?

Is the word “Abstract” centered on the page?

Count the number of words in the abstract.  How many are there?

Are there any sentences that introduce the topic?  There shouldn’t be.

Are there any definitions?  There shouldn’t be.

Is the paragraph indented?  It shouldn’t be.

Did they place the work in context?  How?

Is there a sentence giving the purpose of the review?

Is there a sentence describing the main findings?

What is the sentence which gives the most important consequence?

Is there any use of “this paper,” “this report,” or something similar?  There shouldn’t be.

Did they use any acronyms?  They shouldn’t have.  Please mark them.
