I do not speak Spanish, yet

I am a child of Hispanic high school sweethearts. My mother married an Irish man and I was adopted before my first birthday. My Dad was the head professor of the English department at the University of Houston. I grew up in the Musem District of Houston, Texas there are no Hispanics in this area. My mother then remarried. We moved to Port Arthur, Texas and joined a large Cajun family. Spanish was not spoken in Port Arthur. I learned to speak spanish at the age of 36 when I acceped employment at a major nationwide homebuilder as a Construction Manager. All of the work crews were Hispanic and spoke to me in Spanish. I am now fluent in Spanish.
