My grandfather, who is now in his eighties, developed stomach cancer a few years ago. Fortunately, he went to the doctor as soon as he sensed something was not quite right, because he is a hypochondriac. The doctors examined him, and concluded that surgery was necessary. They removed half his stomach, and told him that too much salt in the diet was a possible reason he developed cancer. My grandfather is fine now. He has to be careful what he eats, and must eat several small meals a day as opposed to a few large ones.
