The Hare and the Tortoise

The hare is a arrogant and critical animal. He is a static character throughout the whole story, because he keeps the same haughty attitude. The hare thinks he is the fastest and the smartest animal. When the tortoise challenges him to the race, he thinks he has it in the bag, for he was so much faster than the tortoise. Although he was the fastest, he was not so smart and witty. When he takes a nap the tortoise wins the race. Therefore we get the proverb, “Slow and steady wins the race.”
