“Come” Get Out Of The Boat

In 2009 I surrendered my life to full time ministry, but at the time, and even still some now, I am unsure of what this means.  I have dreams and passions of being in the medical field, hopefully in emergency medicine, but two years ago Christ came to me and radically changed my life!  I don’t why God chose me, an ordinary person who has made countless mistakes in life, but He has and now I must live a life which relflects His heart through everything I do.  Matthew 14:29 simply says, “Come.”  Jesus tells Peter to get out of the boat , to take faith that Jesus is who He says He is, and to put all trust in Him.  A beautiful picture is painted as Peter loses focus on Jesus and begins to sink, but Jesus reaches down and immediately pulls Peter out of water.  Like Peter, I know storms will come, waves of trials will crash around, but Jesus is right there to pick me up when I fall, “but even if” He doesn’t I will still serve and follow Him (Daniel 3:18).  I know I am not perfect, I am far from perfect.  I do not know why God, the Author of the Universe, chose me but I have accepted His call and now it is time for me to get out of the boat.
